Rear parking sensor with three detection zones
Three distance sensors at the back of the car measure the distance on the left, center, and right, with a beep that speeds up as the car gets closer and a display showing the nearest side. A good beginner project with a tangible result from simple parts.
The problem
Most older vehicles in Jordan have no parking sensor, and the obstacle isn't always visible through the rear window — it may be a low curb or a thin pole that doesn't show in the mirrors. The accident usually happens at low speed, but the repair is expensive.
How it works
- MeasurementThree ultrasonic sensors measure distance in turn.
- ComparisonThe closest of the three readings determines the danger level.
- AlertsThe buzzer beeps faster as the distance shrinks and becomes continuous at the critical range.
- DisplayThe screen shows the distance and the obstacle's direction.

Expected challenges
