Pharmaceutical supply chain and pharmacy point-of-sale platform

A platform linking the manufacturer, distributor, and pharmacy in one place: the pharmacy orders, the distributor tracks, and the manufacturer sees real demand. It includes a point-of-sale system for the pharmacy that ties sales to stock automatically.

The problem

Ordering medicines still happens over the phone, WhatsApp, and paper documents: the pharmacy doesn't know what's in stock, the distributor wastes time confirming by hand, and medicines can run out or expire on the shelf. Nobody has a complete picture of the chain.

How it works

  1. The catalogThe manufacturer and distributor enter their items, prices, and expiry dates.
  2. OrderThe pharmacy orders from items actually in stock and follows its order status.
  3. DeliveryThe distributor confirms and delivers the order, and stock is updated on both sides.
  4. SalesThe point of sale deducts quantities from stock and feeds the analytics dashboards.

Project features

  • Three parties in one system: the manufacturer, the distributor, and the pharmacy.
  • Alerts for upcoming expiry and stock-outs before the problem happens.
  • The point of sale deducts from stock at the moment of sale, so the numbers are always right.
  • Analytics dashboards showing the most-requested items, slow movers, and seasonal demand patterns.

Parts

All the parts you need in one place. Remove what you already have, and swap parts to fit your budget.

Prices are estimates and may change. Parts marked “other supplier” are ordered outside our main store.

Expected challenges

These are the main obstacles to expect during the build, laid out clearly so you know them before you start.

  • The pharmaceutical sector is regulated: pricing, tracking, and records are subject to legal requirements.
  • Stock must be correct in real time, or the platform becomes worse than paper.
  • Getting all three parties to join together — a classic chicken-and-egg problem where each side waits for the others.
  • Expiry dates and batch numbers make the data model more complex than any ordinary store.

The consultation gives you a solution for each one.
